The Iceland Cave Tower competition site is located in the extraordinary landscape near lake Mývatn in northern Iceland. Our proposals included an observation point accommodating and a small visitor centre overlooking Vogagjá — a spectacular ground fissure resulting from seismic activity. The architecture / sculpture grew from beneath the fissure, acting as a visual marker of the two tectonic plates of the European and North American continents.
