Nestled next to the River Aire, the Climate Innovation District is a collection of 200 homes that sit within six acres of communal gardens and green spaces. The landscape serves as a space for gathering and a focal point for the community, but under the green exterior the ‘street’ — which is constructed from a reinforced grass surface — acts as an emergency vehicle route and a simple surface water attenuation system.
